We have had such a busy few weeks organising and planning around our launch event!..meeting businesses, attending events and squeezing in a little competing too. We have also been busy securing exclusive offers for our event attendees at the forthcoming event at Stallion AI Services. We can reveal that some of these will include professional horse care services at heavily discounted rates, perfect for the forthcoming autumn winter season!.. However we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce one of our invited guest speakers to you! so here is a little bit of an insight into Julie's current work and research that we are very excited to hear about in more detail on the 21st September!. Don't forget to buy your tickets through our website or enter our Facebook competition to be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets. (See above menu bar for links to both bookings online and our Facebook page).
Welcome Julie! (and Raf!)
Julie Mckeown -
....I am an academic by current trade – teaching and researching marketing in a rural entrepreneurship field. I am also a marketing practitioner and have been for a VERY long time – gaining my Chartered Marketer Status back in 2000. I enjoy working with small and micro-businesses, helping them to achieve their goals in what is often a fast changing, complex and scary environment. We tend to go into business to do something we love and then struggle with the actual business and marketing aspects, so that we can get bogged down in keeping the business running and taking away from the joy of what we are doing. My research and work covers small rural businesses in the equine field and from this I aim to aid the equestrian rural entrepreneur in developing their business for the long term with greater success and less worry. When not working in this area I have horses of my own, in particular my beautiful grey Arab who has taken me from Wales to Scotland to compete for the Welsh team in the Home Internationals of Endurance this year. He is currently leading the Endurance GB Novice Championships – despite having the burden of me on his back!
