Christmas Fair and Demonstration! Event Report!

Updated: Dec 27, 2022

Hello and thanks to all of you that braved the weather and attended our Christmas Fair and Demonstration event on December 9th. Special thanks to all the stands, volunteers, college students, raffle prize donations and demonstration team! what a fantastic evening was had by all! Here are some pictures of our evening thanks to Ciara Doone. Having received some lovely feedback from our audience and all those involved, we cannot wait to do another event soon! Watch out for news in the New Year of our special events and workshops!. So in no particular order, we welcomed the fantastic local International event rider and local all round nice guy Michael Owen and his team to Reaseheath College

Michael Owen 5* Eventer rode the fabulous 5 year old Monkey taking him through some exercises, focusing on schooling the younger horse over some tricky fences!. We think Monkey did a fantastic job and is definitely a horse to watch for the future! thanks to Michael and his team for coming along to our event and sharing these top tips!

We also had the wonderful Cheshire Carriage & Co with the gorgeous Shire horse 'Kaiser' showcasing the wonderful working role of this incredible breed of horse. Mike Huddart owner and 'Santa' here, chatted to Carrianne about how he started up his company and the sorts of experiences he offers in his service repertoire including carriage driving, showing, coffee shop and events!

Alongside Mike we were also incredibly lucky to have demonstration rider Emily Watts a UKCC British Dressage level 3 coach, Grand Prix level rider who coaches all levels of riders at Audley and hosts clinics at local venues including Reaseheath College. Riding 'Fungus' owned by Louise Lea who kindly allowed him to be a part of our evening, Emily was strapped up and worked through some exercises guided by Jo Titterton. Jo worked her magic on Emily using a range of rider and horse alignment approaches that are all part of Jo's online and in person equipilates and dressage coaching services. Jo is a UKCC and Equipilates qualified and affiliated Instructor, dressage rider, trainer and producer of FEI horses.

Alongside Jo Titterton, we also had Heath Equine vets who talked through some common horse ownership challenges to do with horse health and well being finishing off with a trot up by Fungus and Emily to point our what Vets look for when inspecting horses!. Incredibly insightful team of equine specialists, Heath vets have worked with us on a couple of events now and will continue to be our 'go to' horse well being advisers at future events.

We had a range of businesses selling products and promoting services including those providing drink and food. These businesses both donated prizes, goody bag vouchers and offers along with some freebies and really got into the spirit of networking! Thanks To Gee Gee & T's for their kind donation of 50p per drink to add to the fundraiser raffle and event proceeds.

Overall we hope to be able to announce our fundraising total ASAP once we have received all of our invoices. We will post our handover of the amount to the local Nantwich RDA Group. We cannot thank everyone involved enough! from everyone who donated raffle prizes ( i think we have all the winners bar 3, so please get in touch if your not sure by Sunday 18th to claim your prize - see our facebook page for full list) to all the College staff and students and our little army of volunteers and we certainly had many hands make light work on the evening, Many thanks to all :) xx
